Online Quiz as a teaching-learning tool in Dentistry: COVID-19

Resumo: Objective: the aim of this article was to evaluate the level of knowledge of dental students and dentists, as well as the efficiency and applicability of an online Quiz as a methodology for teaching dentistry. Material and methods: a cross-sectional study was carried out, using an online Quiz containing questions with “fact” and “fake” response options. After answering the questions, the platform used automatically provided the correct answer with the respective bibliographic references. Dentistry students and professionals in the field responded to the survey, totaling 88 responses. This research was approved by technical opinion 51677621.6.0000.5257 CEP-HUFF/UFRJ. Results: the average result was 76.5% of correct answers. In addition, out of a total of 4890 views, only 88 responses were obtained completely. Conclusion: It was observed that dentistry students and dentists have a reasonable knowledge about the dental theme related to COVID-19 and that active teaching methodologies need better implementation in universities.

Material y métodos: se realizó un estudio transversal, utilizando un Cuestionario en línea que contenía preguntas relacionadas con el COVID-19 y sus reflejos en Odontología, con opciones de respuesta “hecho” o “falso”. Después de responder las preguntas, la plataforma utilizada proporcionó automáticamente la respuesta correcta con las respectivas referencias bibliográficas. Estudiantes de odontología y profesionales del ramo respondieron a la encuesta, totalizando 88 respuestas. Esta investigación fue aprobada por opinión técnica 51677621.6.0000.5257 CEP-HUFF/UFRJ. Resultado: el resultado promedio fue de 76,5% de respuestas correctas. Además, de un total de 480 visualizaciones, solo se obtuvieron 88 respuestas completas. Conclusión: se observó que los estudiantes de odontología y los odontólogos tienen un conocimiento razonable sobre el tema odontológico relacionado con el COVID-19 y que las metodologías de enseñanza activa necesitan una mejor implementación en las universidades.Objetivo: o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o nível de conhecimento de acadêmicos de Odontologia e cirurgiões-dentistas sobre os impactos da COVID-19 na Odontologia, assim como a eficiência e aplicabilidade de um Quiz on-line como metodologia de ensino odontológico. Material e métodos: foi realizado um estudo transversal, usando um Quiz on-line contendo questões relacionadas à COVID-19 e seus reflexos na Odontologia, com opções de resposta “fato” ou “fake”. Após responderem às perguntas, a plataforma utilizada disponibilizava automaticamente a resposta correta com as respectivas referências bibliográficas. Estudantes de Odontologia e profissionais da área responderam à pesquisa, totalizando 88 respostas. Esta pesquisa foi aprovada pelo parecer técnico 51677621.6.0000.5257 CEP-HUFF/UFRJ. Resultado: o resultado médio foi de 76,5% de acertos. Além disso, de um total de 480 visualizações, apenas 88 respostas foram obtidas de forma completa.
