Clinical profile of patients suffering from chest trauma who underwent chest drainage in the city of Belém-Pa, from 2015 to 2017

Resumo: | Objective: To analyze the clinical profile of patients suffering from thoracic trauma treated at a private clinic affiliated with SUS in the city of Belém, in the State of Pará, Brazil. Method: Cross-sectional, retrospective, documentary study, with a quantitative approach carried out from 2015 to 2017. Data were collected with a time frame corresponding to the period from January 2015 to January 2017, totaling 3,700 cases. A sample error of 5% was adopted, with a 95% confidence level; establishing as sample n = 305 calls registered in the service database. Results: 83% were male and 28% female and the highest frequency in the age range was 20 to 34. Final considerations: Young men, in productive age, are the main ones affected by chest trauma, therefore it is of fundamental importance that everyone involved reflects on their behavior. |

Método: Estudio documental, transversal, retrospectivo, con enfoque cuantitativo realizado de 2015 a 2017. Los datos fueron recolectados con un marco temporal correspondiente al período de enero de 2015 a enero de 2017, totalizando 3.700 casos. Se adoptó un error muestral del 5%, con un nivel de confianza del 95%; estableciendo como muestra n = 305 llamadas registradas en la base de datos del servicio. Resultados: 83% fueron hombres y 28% mujeres y la mayor frecuencia en el rango de edad fue de 20 a 34. Consideraciones finales: Los hombres jóvenes, en edad productiva, son los principales afectados por el traumatismo torácico, por lo que es de fundamental importancia que todos los involucrados reflexionan sobre su comportamiento.Objetivo: Analisar o perfil clínico de pacientes vítimas de trauma torácico atendidos em uma clínica particular conveniado ao SUS no município de Belém, no Estado do Pará, Brasil. Método: Estudo transversal, retrospectivo, documental, com abordagem quantitativa realizado no período de 2015 a 2017. Os dados foram coletados com um recorte temporal correspondendo ao período de janeiro de 2015 a janeiro de 2017, totalizando 3.700 atendimentos. Adotou-se como erro amostral uma margem de 5%, com um nível de confiança de 95%; estabelecendo-se como amostra n= 305 atendimentos registrados na base de dados do serviço. Resultados: 83% eram do gênero masculino e 28% do gênero feminino e a maior frequência de faixa etária foi de 20 a 34.
