Speech motor disorders: an analysis of the performance of brazilian speech therapists

Summary: | Introduction: For speech to exist, there must be motor control of phono articulatory organs involved. Speech motor control, which sends information in order to contract muscles and structures such as lips, tongue and jaw and recruits them to perform precise and coordinated movements, includes planning, which would be the preparation of movements and programming of the speech. preparation and production of these sounds. Objective: To understand the role of Brazilian speech therapists in children's speech motor disorders. Method: A questionnaire was developed to investigate the clinical practice of speech therapy and knowledge about Motor Speech Disorders (MPD), where 95 speech therapists completed an online questionnaire, developed exclusively for this research. The questionnaire was developed using the Google Forms TM platform; with closed questions. The study is characterized by being exploratory, cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative. For data analysis, after completion, the subjects' data were tabulated individually and thus underwent statistical treatment and quantitative description. Results: This study favored the characterization of who are the professionals who work with FMD in Brazil and showed that most are from the private health network and had some training dedicated to the performance of these disorders. The data are also explained in relation to the dynamics of care, frequency and duration, demonstrating that the service in Brazil is far from international realities. |

Resultados: Este estudio favoreció la caracterización de quiénes son los profesionales que trabajan con la fiebre aftosa en Brasil y mostró que la mayoría son de la red privada de salud y tenían alguna formación dedicada a la actuación de estos trastornos. Los datos también son explicados en relación a la dinámica de atención, frecuencia y duración, demostrando que el servicio en Brasil está lejos de las realidades internacionales.Introdução: Para que exista a fala é necessário haver o controle motor dos órgãos fonoarticulatórios envolvidos. O controle motor da fala, que envia informação de forma a contrair a musculatura e as estruturas como lábios, língua e mandíbula e os recruta para a execução de movimentos precisos e coordenados, inclui o planejamento, que seria a preparação dos movimentos e a programação da preparação e produção desses sons. Objetivo: Compreender a atuação dos fonoaudiólogos brasileiros nos transtornos motores de fala infantil. Método: Foi elaborado um questionário para investigar a respeito da prática clínica fonoaudiológica e conhecimentos sobre os Transtornos Motores da Fala (TMF), onde 95 fonoaudiólogos preencheram um questionário online, desenvolvido exclusivamente para esta pesquisa. O questionário foi elaborado na plataforma Google Forms TM; com perguntas objetivas. O estudo caracteriza-se por ser do tipo exploratório, transversal, descritivo, quantitativo. Para a análise dos dados, após a finalização os dados dos sujeitos foram tabulados individualmente e assim passaram por tratamento estatístico e descrição quantitativa. Resultados: Este estudo favoreceu a caracterização de quem são os profissionais que atuam com TMF no Brasil e mostrou que a maioria está na rede privada de saúde e tinham alguma formação dedicada à atuação desses transtornos.
