Influences of Pathogen- Host interactions in the Environment on the Biological functions of plants

Resumo: The aim of the present work was to present the interaction between pathogens - host - environment, and the main aspects involved in the defense mechanism of plants against attack by pathogens, showing some diseases caused by pathogens. The research is a bibliographic review carried out on articles, books, theses, dissertations and monographs from 1982 to 2020, in English and Portuguese. For the elaboration of the manuscript, the bases of SciELO, Google scholar, Capes journals and books were used, the descriptors used were Interaction plant - pathogen - environment. Plants have defenses that can be actively expressed in response to pathogens, generally respond to the attack of phytopathogens through structural characteristics that act as physical barriers and prevent them from spreading, through biochemical reactions that produce toxic substances for the pathogen or create conditions that inhibit their development. In the pathogen-host interaction process, the plant's defense system is activated by various means, resulting in the production of toxic substances to pathogens, preventing their establishment. Since, these defenses can be structural or chemical, and depending on the attacking pathogen. In addition, it is important to note that every action in this pathogen-host interaction system results in a reaction (physical, biochemical and climatic conditions). Where, there is a dynamic balance in this relationship and this balance determines the resistance or susceptibility of plants to pathogens. Therefore, when there is an imbalance in the plant's functions, it is harmful and leads to the development of symptoms, causing damage to the host and consequently affecting the interactions.

La investigación es una revisión bibliográfica realizada sobre artículos, libros, tesis, disertaciones y monografías de 1982 a 2020, en inglés y portugués. Para la elaboración del manuscrito se utilizaron las bases de los sitios SciELO, académico de Google, revistas y libros de Capes, los descriptores utilizados fueron Interacción planta - patógeno - ambiente. Las plantas tienen defensas que pueden expresarse activamente en respuesta a patógenos, generalmente responden al ataque de fitopatógenos mediante características estructurales que actúan como barreras físicas y evitan que se propaguen, a través de reacciones bioquímicas que producen sustancias tóxicas para el patógeno o crean condiciones que inhibir su desarrollo. En el proceso de interacción patógeno-hospedador, el sistema de defensa de la planta se activa por diversos medios, dando como resultado la producción de sustancias tóxicas para los patógenos, impidiendo su establecimiento. Dado que, estas defensas pueden ser estructurales o químicas, y dependiendo del patógeno atacante. Además, es importante señalar que cada acción en este sistema de interacción patógeno-huésped da como resultado una reacción (condiciones físicas, bioquímicas y climáticas). Donde, hay un equilibrio dinámico en esta relación y este equilibrio determina la resistencia o susceptibilidad de las plantas a los patógenos. Por tanto, cuando existe un desequilibrio en las funciones de la planta, resulta perjudicial y conduce al desarrollo de síntomas, provocando daños en el huésped y consecuentemente afectando las interacciones.Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho apresentar a interação entre patógenos– hospedeiro –ambiente, e os principais aspectos envolvidos no mecanismo de defesa de plantas contra o ataque de patógenos, evidenciando algumas doenças causadas pelos patógenos. A pesquisa trata-se de revisão bibliográfica realizada em artigos, livros, teses, dissertações e monografias desde os anos de 1982 a 2020, na língua inglesa e portuguesa. Para elaboração do manuscrito foram utilizadas as bases de sites de SciELO, Google acadêmico, Periódicos Capes e livros, os descritores utilizados foram Interação planta – patógeno –ambiente. As plantas possuem defesas que podem ser ativamente expressadas em resposta a patógenos, geralmente respondem ao ataque de fitopatógenos mediante características estruturais que atuam como barreiras físicas e impedem que estes se propaguem, através de reações bioquímicas que produzem substâncias tóxicas para o patógeno ou criam condições que inibem seu desenvolvimento. No processo de interação patógeno-hospedeiro, existe a ativação do sistema de defesa da planta por vários meios, resultando na produção de substâncias tóxicas aos patógenos, impedindo o estabelecimento destes. Visto que, essas defesas podem ser estruturais ou químicas, e dependendo do patógeno atacante. Além do mais, é importante ressaltar que toda ação neste sistema de interação patógeno-hospedeiro, resulta numa reação (física, bioquímica e condições climáticas). Onde, existe um equilíbrio dinâmico nesta relação e este equilíbrio determina a resistência ou suscetibilidade de plantas aos patógenos.
