Communication difficulties of the multidisciplinary team with frail elderly: integrative review

Objective: to know the evidence available in the literature about the communication difficulties of the multidisciplinary team with frail elderly people for the effectiveness of care in home care. Methodology: this is an integrative literature review carried out in the Lilacs and Bdenf databases by the Virtual Health Library and CAPES Journal Portal, of studies published between 2015 and 2019. Results: 11 articles were selected, of which 63.63 % addressed frailty and dependence for ABVD and IADL and 36.36% about home care and sociodemographic issues at home. All publications are national, with a predominance of the English language, followed by Portuguese and Spanish. There has been a decrease in scientific production in the last year on the subject. Conclusion: many elderly people have geriatric pathologies or syndromes that hinder communication, it is recommended that professionals carry out an active search for the frail or bedridden elderly, in order to carry out home visits to all who need them, taking into account the multidimensional aspect.
