Definition of criteria for the management of the physical arrangement of the prototype parts shed in the automotive industry

Summary: In the present article, bibliographic research and action research were carried out to understand the criteria for managing the layout of prototype parts in the shed of an automotive industry. This area was chosen because there are not many studies related to this topic in the academic field. The general objective was to analyze the variables involved in the storage of the prototype parts used in different programs in the warehouse of the automotive company in question and to define criteria for storage of the materials. In addition, the specific objectives were to identify the materials stored in the shed, to analyze the distance traveled to separate them and to present a model suggestion of the parts storage layout, ensuring a more efficient material movement. In this analysis, data were extracted from the stock control system and field observation was carried out so that the current management model was delimited and a new suggestion was defined in order to reduce the distance that the materials travel from the shelf in the stock until they reach exit from the shed and subsequent assembly in vehicles. The data obtained were stratified and interpreted to obtain the key information for the study. The comparison between the current layout and the proposed layout allowed us to observe that the parts were not being stored in an optimized way and that more assertive criteria should be considered to define the location of the prototype parts.

Se eligió esta área porque no existen muchos estudios relacionados con este tema en el ámbito académico. El objetivo general fue analizar las variables involucradas en el almacenamiento de las piezas prototipo utilizadas en diferentes programas en el almacén de la empresa automotriz en cuestión y definir criterios para el almacenamiento de materiales. Además, los objetivos específicos fueron: identificar los materiales almacenados en el galpón, analizar la distancia recorrida para separarlos y presentar una sugerencia de modelo de la disposición de almacenamiento de piezas, asegurando un movimiento de material más eficiente. En este análisis se extrajeron datos del sistema de control de stock y se realizó la observación de campo para delimitar el modelo de gestión actual y se definió una nueva sugerencia con el fin de reducir la distancia que recorren los materiales desde la estantería en el stock hasta llegar a Salida del galpón y posterior montaje en vehículos. Los datos obtenidos fueron estratificados e interpretados para obtener la información clave para el estudio. La comparación entre el diseño actual y el diseño propuesto permitió observar que las piezas no se estaban almacenando de forma optimizada y que deberían considerarse criterios más asertivos para definir la ubicación de las piezas prototipo.No presente artigo foi realizada a pesquisa bibliográfica e a pesquisa ação para entendimento dos critérios para gestão do layout de peças protótipas no galpão de uma indústria automotiva. Esta área foi escolhida por não haverem muitos estudos relativos a este tema no âmbito acadêmico. O objetivo geral, foi analisar as variáveis envolvidas na estocagem das peças protótipas utilizadas a diferentes programas no galpão da empresa automotiva em questão e definir critérios para armazenagem dos materiais. Ademais, os objetivos específicos foram: identificar os materiais armazenados no galpão, analisar a distância percorrida para separação destes e apresentar uma sugestão de modelo do layout de armazenagem das peças, garantindo uma movimentação de materiais mais eficiente. Nesta análise foram extraídos dados do sistema de controle de estoque e realizada a observação de campo para que o modelo de gestão atual fosse delimitado e uma nova sugestão fosse definida a fim de diminuir a distância que os materiais percorrem desde a prateleira no estoque até chegarem a saída do galpão e posterior montagem nos veículos. Os dados obtidos foram estratificados e interpretados para obtenção das informações chave ao estudo.
