The humanization of care in intensive care units

Resumo: | Objective: To reflect on the benefits of humanizing nursing care in the ICU. Method: Integrative literature review, bibliographic study, carried out from August 2023 to February 2024 in the databases of the Virtual Health Library and the SCIELO Library, after filtering with full text, in the last 8 years, 2017 a 2024, and in English and Portuguese and, after the systematic analysis of two articles, 15 scientific products were selected that corroborated the objective of the study. Results: The data analytical process brought important results, such as the significance of understanding the importance of the confluence of the intimate professional-patient relationship which, when properly implemented, confirms the guidelines standardized by the National Humanization Policy: physical contact; Health education; empathetic, welcoming and hierarchical communication; acceptance of desires and fears not only of patients, but also of their families; enabling family integration of patients; individualized assistance to the specific needs of patients; promoting the maximum possible comfort; in addition to, above all, individual humanization of the professional. Conclusions: Therefore, we can say that humanization is an important tool in daily nursing practice, enabling reception, communication, acceptance of treatment, patient safety, contributing to efficient and quality care in Intensive Care Unit environments. |

Método: Revisión integrativa de la literatura, estudio bibliográfico, realizado de agosto de 2023 a febrero de 2024 en las bases de datos de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud y de la Biblioteca SCIELO, luego del filtrado con texto completo, en los últimos 8 años, 2017 a 2024, y en inglés y portugués y, luego del análisis sistemático. de dos artículos se seleccionaron 15 productos científicos que corroboraron el objetivo del estudio. Resultados: El proceso de análisis de datos arrojó resultados importantes, como la importancia de comprender la importancia de la confluencia de la relación íntima profesional-paciente que, cuando se implementa adecuadamente, confirma las directrices estandarizadas por la Política Nacional de Humanización: contacto físico; Educación para la salud; comunicación empática, acogedora y jerárquica; aceptación de los deseos y temores no sólo de los pacientes, sino también de sus familias; permitir la integración familiar de los pacientes; asistencia individualizada a las necesidades específicas de los pacientes; promoviendo el máximo confort posible; además de, sobre todo, la humanización individual del profesional. Conclusiones: Por lo tanto, podemos decir que la humanización es una herramienta importante en la práctica diaria de enfermería, posibilitando la recepción, la comunicación, la aceptación del tratamiento, la seguridad del paciente, contribuyendo a una atención eficiente y de calidad en los ambientes de Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos.Objetivo: Refletir sobre o beneficiamento da humanização da assistência em enfermagem na UTI. Método: Revisão integrativa da literatura, um estudo bibliográfico, realizada no período de agosto de 2023 a fevereiro de 2024, nas bases de dados da Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde e na Biblioteca da SCIELO, após filtragem com texto completo, nos últimos 8 anos, 2017 a 2024, e em inglês e português e, depois da análise sistemática dos artigos, foram selecionadas 15 produções cientificas que corroboravam com o objetivo do estudo. Resultados: O processo analítico dos dados trouxe resultado importante, como a significância da compreensão da importância da confluência da íntima relação profissional-paciente que, ao ser devidamente efetivada, confirma as diretrizes normatizadas pela Política Nacional de Humanização: contato físico; educação em saúde; comunicação empática, acolhedora e isolada de hierarquização; aceitação de anseios e medo não somente dos pacientes, como de seus familiares; viabilização da integração familiar dos pacientes; assistências individualizadas às necessidades específicas dos pacientes; promoção da maximização possível de conforto; além de, sobretudo, humanização individual do profissional.
