Conflict mediation in the school environment: a look at psychology

Summary: | This research aims to understand how mediation positively affects the school community, through the interventions carried out by the professional, making use of the necessary tools to remedy possible conflicting events that may arise from the relationships between students-students, students-teacher, teacher-coordination. The methodology used in the research was a literature review, with data collection carried out between September and October, 2019, in the following databases: Scielo, Pepsic, Google Scholar, Bireme, CAPES journal portal. In the search for articles, the following keywords were used: school violence, conflict mediation, school and family. The results of the research indicate that mediation is an effective way of resolving conflicts in the school environment, as it favors the verbalization and elaboration of conflicts through feelings of understanding, acceptance and solidarity with both parties involved in the conflict. Finally, it is concluded that school violence is a reflection of other violence suffered, such as intrafamily and it is considered that the role of the psychologist as a mediator in the school is an increasingly emerging need to promote the resolution of conflicts that will result in a peaceful school setting. |

La metodología utilizada en la investigación fue una revisión de la literatura, con recopilación de datos realizada entre septiembre y octubre de 2019, en las siguientes bases de datos: Scielo, Pepsic, Google Scholar, Bireme, portal de la revista CAPES. En la búsqueda de artículos, se utilizaron las siguientes palabras clave: violencia escolar, mediación de conflictos, escuela y familia. Los resultados de la encuesta indican que la mediación es una forma efectiva de resolver conflictos en el entorno escolar, ya que favorece la verbalización y elaboración de conflictos a través de sentimientos de comprensión, aceptación y solidaridad con ambas partes involucradas en el conflicto. Finalmente, se concluye que la violencia escolar es un reflejo de otra violencia sufrida, como la intrafamilia y se considera que el papel del psicólogo como mediador en la escuela es una necesidad cada vez más emergente de promover la resolución de los conflictos que resultarán en un ambiente escolar tranquilo.Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo entender como a mediação afeta positivamente a comunidade escolar, através das intervenções realizadas pelo profissional, fazendo uso das ferramentas necessárias para sanar possíveis eventos conflituosos que possam surgir das relações entre alunos-alunos, alunos-professor, professor-coordenação. A metodologia utilizada na pesquisa foi revisão de literatura, com a coleta de dados realizada entre setembro e outubro, de 2019, nas seguintes bases de dados: Scielo, Pepsic, Google Acadêmico, Bireme, Portal de periódicos da CAPES. Na busca dos artigos utilizaram-se as seguintes palavras chave: violência escolar, mediação de conflitos, escola e família. Os resultados da pesquisa indicam que a mediação é uma forma eficaz de resolução de conflitos no ambiente escolar, pois favorece a verbalização e elaboração dos conflitos através dos sentimentos de compreensão, aceitação e solidariedade para com ambas as partes envolvidas no conflito.
