The use of health literacy by an academic league in the information process in times of pandemic: Experience report

Resumo: The objective of this study is to report the experience of the Academic League of Urgency and Emergency (LAUE) of the University of the State of Minas Gerais (UEMG) in relation to events organized by students and professors of the participating Nursing course using videoconference platforms for the realization lectures and short courses due to the social isolation caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic involving the informational process of health literacy. This is a quantitative, descriptive study, of the type of experience report of students of the nursing course about the use of technology in the development of educational activities. 79 participants of this study participated in events held by the Academic League and 15 LAUE students from courses in the health area. The activities took place between the months of October and December 2020, using remote means. The use of technologies during the period of social isolation proved to be satisfactory, reinforcing that their use plays a facilitating role in the teaching and learning process during the period of social isolation. Through the internet it was possible to obtain a greater reach of people, allowing to foster health literacy with the use of digital media, promoting knowledge based on scientific evidence and being able to observe a greater interaction of listeners with the speakers during the events held. In view of this, the use of videoconferencing platforms played a facilitating role in the process of building knowledge, having as an ally the technologies that provide increasingly effective and modern communication between people who may be in different spaces.

Se trata de un estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, del tipo de relato de experiencia de los estudiantes del curso de enfermería sobre el uso de la tecnología en el desarrollo de actividades educativas. 79 participantes de este estudio participaron en eventos realizados por la Liga Académica y 15 estudiantes LAUE de cursos en el área de la salud. Las actividades se desarrollaron entre los meses de octubre y diciembre de 2020, utilizando medios remotos. El uso de tecnologías durante el período de aislamiento social resultó ser satisfactorio, reforzando que su uso juega un papel facilitador en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje durante el período de aislamiento social. A través de internet se logró obtener un mayor alcance de las personas, permitiendo fomentar la alfabetización en salud con el uso de medios digitales, promoviendo el conocimiento basado en evidencia científica y pudiendo observar una mayor interacción de los oyentes con los ponentes durante los eventos realizados. Ante esto, el uso de plataformas de videoconferencia jugó un papel facilitador en el proceso de construcción del conocimiento, teniendo como aliado las tecnologías que brindan una comunicación cada vez más efectiva y moderna entre las personas que pueden estar en diferentes espacios.O objetivo deste estudo é relatar a experiência vivenciada pela Liga Acadêmica de Urgência e Emergência (LAUE) da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG) em relação aos eventos organizados por alunos e docentes do curso de Enfermagem participantes utilizando plataformas de videoconferência para a realização de palestras e minicursos à distância devido ao isolamento social ocasionado pela Pandemia da COVID-19 envolvendo o processo informacional da literacia em Saúde. Trata-se de estudo quantitativo, descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência de estudantes do curso de enfermagem acerca do uso da tecnologia no desenvolvimento de atividades educativas. Participaram deste estudo 79 participantes de eventos realizados pela Liga Acadêmica e 15 discentes da LAUE de cursos da área da saúde. As atividades ocorreram entre os meses de outubro e dezembro de 2020, utilizando meio remoto. O uso de tecnologias durante o período de isolamento social demonstrou-se satisfatório reforçando que o seu uso exerce um papel facilitador no processo de ensino e aprendizagem durante o período de isolamento social. Através da internet foi possível obter um maior alcance de pessoas, propiciando fomentar a literacia em saúde com a utilização de mídias digitais, promovendo o conhecimento baseado em evidências científicas e podendo ser observado uma maior interação dos ouvintes com os palestrantes durante os eventos realizados.
