Scientific production of Nursing on bone fractures in elderly people: an integrative review

Resumo: Objective: To know the scientific production of nursing about bone fractures in elderly people. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review. Data collection was carried out in June 2019, in seven databases. Results: After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, ten studies in full remained for analysis, carried out in Brazil, Spain, United States of America, Sweden and Turkey. Three categories emerged: “Profile of elderly people who suffered bone fractures”; “Post-bone fracture processes in the elderly”; and “Nurse's role in assisting the elderly with bone fracture”. Final Considerations: This study made it possible to get to know the scientific production of nursing about bone fractures in the elderly. It was found that the publications of nurses addressing this theme is quite scarce and with a low level of evidence, however, the approach of it by nurses, takes place in a very particular, diverse and constructive way, which confirms that it is a wide area to be explored, disseminated and encouraged in the academic and professional field of Nursing.

Metodología: Esta es una revisión de literatura integradora. La recolección de datos se realizó en junio de 2019, en siete bases de datos. Resultados: Después de aplicar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, quedaron diez estudios completos para análisis, realizados en Brasil, España, Estados Unidos de América, Suecia y Turquía. Surgieron tres categorías: "Perfil de las personas mayores que sufrieron fracturas óseas"; "Procesos de fractura post-hueso en los ancianos"; y "El papel de la enfermera en ayudar a los ancianos con fractura ósea". Consideraciones Finales: Este estudio permitió conocer la producción científica de enfermería sobre fracturas óseas en ancianos. Se encontró que las publicaciones de enfermeras que abordan este tema son bastante escasas y con un bajo nivel de evidencia, sin embargo, el enfoque de las enfermeras se lleva a cabo de una manera muy particular, diversa y constructiva, lo que confirma que es Un área amplia para ser explorada, difundida y alentada en el campo académico y profesional de la Enfermería.Objetivo: Conhecer a produção científica da enfermagem acerca de fraturas ósseas em pessoas idosas. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa de literatura. A coleta de dados foi realizada em junho de 2019, em sete bases de dados. Resultados: Após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, restaram dez estudos na íntegra para análise, realizados no Brasil, Espanha, Estados Unidos da América, Suécia e Turquia. Emergiram três categorias: “Perfil das pessoas idosas que sofreram fraturas óssea”; “Processos pós-fratura óssea na pessoa idosa”; e “Atuação do Enfermeiro na Assistência à pessoa idosa com fratura óssea”. Considerações Finais: Este estudo possibilitou conhecer a produção científica da enfermagem acerca das fraturas ósseas nas pessoas idosas.
