Coping strategies, preventive measures and control of labor violence in primary health care

Resumo: | Objective: to identify coping strategies, preventive measures and control of violence at work by health professionals in Primary Health Care. Method: this is a qualitative exploratory-descriptive study carried out in health units in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul , with 20 service professionals. Data collection took place between January and March 2020, through an audio-recorded press conference, transcribed and submitted to thematic content analysis. Results: professionals recognized their high exposure to violence at work, using strategies such as detachment, denial and flight to avoid the problem or equally aggressive reactions. The control measures identified were security support, support from colleagues and increased dialogue. Furthermore, they lack management support to prevent violence by improving infrastructure, access and social investments. Conclusion: the accomplishment of increments in the relationships and in the microspace are important, but managerial and social investments are fundamental. |

Método: se trata de un estudio cualitativo exploratorio-descriptivo realizado en unidades de salud de la capital de Rio Grande do Sul. , con 20 profesionales de servicio. La recolección de datos se realizó entre enero y marzo de 2020, a través de una rueda de prensa grabada en audio, transcrita y sometida a análisis de contenido temático. Resultados: los profesionales reconocieron su alta exposición a la violencia en el trabajo, utilizando estrategias como el desapego, la negación y la huida para evitar el problema o reacciones igualmente agresivas. Las medidas de control identificadas fueron el apoyo a la seguridad, el apoyo de los compañeros y un mayor diálogo. Además, carecen de apoyo gerencial para prevenir la violencia mejorando la infraestructura, el acceso y las inversiones sociales. Conclusión: la realización de incrementos en las relaciones y en el microespacio son importantes, pero las inversiones gerenciales y sociales son fundamentales.Objetivo: identificar estratégias de enfrentamento, medidas preventivas e de controle da violência no trabalho de profissionais de saúde da Atenção Primária à Saúde. Método: trata-se de um estudo qualitativo exploratório-descritivo realizado em unidades de saúde na capital do Rio Grande do Sul, com 20 profissionais do serviço. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre janeiro e março de 2020, através de entrevista coletiva audiogravada, transcritas e submetidas à análise de conteúdo temática. Resultados: os profissionais reconheceram sua elevada exposição à violência no trabalho, utilizam de estratégias como distanciamento, negação e fuga para esquivar-se do problema ou de reações igualmente agressivas. As medidas de controle identificadas foram suporte de segurança, apoio dos colegas e incremento do diálogo. Ainda, carecem do apoio da gestão para prevenir a violência através da melhora da infraestrutura, acesso e investimentos sociais.
