Incentive for primary skin cancer prevention in the amazon region: perceptions about risks and vulnerabilities

Resumo: This article aims to report the experience of an extension project that made it possible to encourage the prevention of skin cancer. The study it was carried out in the municipalities of the Amazon region, including: Altamira/PA, Ananindeua/PA; Belem/PA; Cametá/PA; Parauapebas/PA and Porto Velho/RO, in person and online. The causes, symptoms, diagnosis and prophylaxis of Skin Cancer were exposed, with the help of illustrative pamphlets. 868 participants were reached, in places with high insolation, and we sought to know the users' perception of skin cancer prevention practices and their knowledge about the subject. Regarding the audience reached, differences were observed in the number of people, variations in age and gender of the participants, depending on the location chosen for carrying out the actions. In addition, the moment of interaction with research participants provided the exchange of knowledge and the offer of instructions on how to act in face of daily sun exposure. It is understood that health education extension actions are essential to contribute to the prevention of skin cancer and to the relationship between the academic environment and the population.

El estúdio fue realizado en los municipios de la región amazónica, entre ellos: Altamira/PA, Ananindeua/PA; Belém/PA; Cametá/PA; Parauapebas/PA y Porto Velho/RO, presencial y online. Se expusieron las causas, síntomas, diagnóstico y profilaxis del Cáncer de Piel, con la ayuda de folletos ilustrativos. Se alcanzó un total de 868 participantes, en lugares con alta insolación, y se buscó conocer la percepción de los usuarios respecto a las prácticas de prevención del cáncer de piel y su conocimiento sobre el tema. En cuanto a la audiencia alcanzada, se observaron diferencias en el número de personas, variaciones en el grupo de edad y género de los participantes según el lugar elegido para las acciones. Además, el momento de interacción con los participantes de la investigación brindó un intercambio de conocimientos y el ofrecimiento de indicaciones sobre cómo actuar frente a la exposición diaria al sol. Se entiende que las acciones de extensión de la educación en salud son fundamentales para contribuir a la prevención del cáncer de piel ya la relación entre el medio académico y la población.O presente artigo tem por objetivo relatar a experiência de um projeto de extensão que possibilitou o incentivo à prevenção ao câncer de pele. O estudo foi realizado nos municípios da região Amazônica, incluindo: Altamira/PA, Ananindeua/PA; Belém/PA; Cametá/PA; Parauapebas/PA e Porto Velho/RO, de forma presencial e online. Houve a exposição de causas, sintomas, diagnóstico e profilaxia do Câncer de Pele, com o auxílio de panfletos ilustrativos. Foram alcançados 868 participantes, em locais com elevada insolação e buscou-se conhecer a percepção dos usuários quanto às práticas de prevenção ao câncer de pele e seu conhecimento acerca do assunto. Acerca do público alcançado, observou-se diferenças na quantidade de pessoas, variações de faixa etária e de sexo dos participantes a depender do local escolhido para a realização das ações. Além disso, o momento de interação com os participantes da pesquisa proporcionou troca de conhecimentos e oferta de instruções sobre como se deve agir frente à exposição solar diária.
