Resumo: | Objective: to describe the role of nurse managers and their legal implications in private institutions in northern Brazil. Method: Descriptive study with a qualitative approach carried out with nurse managers of private dialysis institutions in Belém. For the interpretation of the data, Bardin's content analysis was used. Result: The profile of the nurses found are younger professionals who have a long time of experience in the place and a longer time of training. The categories arising from the content analysis were: Category 1- Functions performed by nurses in the dialysis unit; Category 2- Knowledge of the legal implications of nurses in hemodialysis. Conclusion: It was noticed that nurses often assume functions that are not compatible with the position, that is, they supply and fill the gap of other professional demands and service needs. |

Método: Estudio descriptivo con abordaje cualitativo realizado con enfermeras gerentes de instituciones privadas de diálisis en Belém, para la interpretación de los datos se utilizó el análisis de contenido de Bardin. Resultado: El perfil de los enfermeros encontrados son profesionales más jóvenes que cuentan con una larga experiencia en el lugar y un mayor tiempo de formación. Las categorías derivadas del análisis de contenido fueron: Categoría 1- Funciones realizadas por enfermeros en la unidad de diálisis; Categoría 2- Conocimiento de las implicaciones legales del enfermero en hemodiálisis. Conclusión: Se notó que el enfermero muchas veces asume funciones incompatibles con el puesto, es decir, abastece y llena el vacío de otras demandas profesionales y necesidades de servicio.Objetivo: descrever a função de enfermeiros gestores e suas implicações legais em instituições privadas na região norte do Brasil. Método: Estudo descritivo de abordagem qualitativa realizado com enfermeiros gestores de instituições de diálise privadas em Belém. Para a interpretação dos dados foi utilizado a análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Resultado: O perfil dos enfermeiros encontrados são profissionais mais jovens os quais possuem um longo tempo de experiência no local e maior tempo de formação. As categorias advindas da análise de conteúdo foram: Categoria 1- Funções executadas por enfermeiros da unidade de diálise; Categoria 2- Conhecimento das implicações legais do enfermeiro em hemodiálise.
