Epidemiological characterization of the main health indicators of COVID-19 in Teresina-PI, Brazil: a brief analysis

Summary: This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological profile of the main health indicators of COVID-19 in Teresina-PI. This is an epidemiological, descriptive and quantitative resurvey of cases reported by COVID-19 in the city of Teresina-PI, from March 13 to July 12, 2020. The data were analyzed from there ports of the epidemiological bulletin of health in the city provided by the Municipal Health Foundation (FMS). The variables evaluated were age group, gender, lethality rate, comorbidities, deaths, confirmed cases, to ten largest neighbor hoods with confirmed cases, mean, median, standard deviation, variance and analysis of the evolution in the number of infections and deaths by COVID- 19. Data were tabulate dusing the TABNET and Microsoft Office Excel 2019 programs 10,914 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the city of Teresina-PI and there was an increasing trend in the frequency of notification. There was a predominance of confirmed cases in females (n = 6058; 55.51%), aged between 30 and 39 years (n = 2,799; 25.6%) and 40 to 49 years (n = 2,012; 18,5%). While, in relation to those who died, it was in the male gender (n = 303; 55.9%), with a lethality of 6.23%, and in the age group of 70 years to 79 (n = 134; 25.0 %) and 80 to 89 (n = 126; 23.2%), with a lethality of 45.3% and 62% respectively. And 82% of patients had comorbidities. There was also a higher incidence of deaths in the neighborhoods of Itararé, 27.50%, followed by Promorar with 15.50%. However, case confirmations 20% Itararé and 14% Mocambinho. The behavior of the pandemic is rising in the city of Teresina-PI, which highlights the need for more containment measures.

Es una encuesta epidemiológica, descriptiva y cuantitativa de casos reportados por COVID-19 en la ciudad de Teresina-PI, del 13 de marzo al 12 de julio de 2020. Los datos se analizaron a partir de los informes del boletín epidemiológico de salud enlaciudad proporcionada por la Fundación Municipal de Salud (FMS). Las variables evaluadas fueron grupo de edad, sexo, tasa de mortalidad, comorbilidades, muertes, casos confirmados, a los diez vecindarios más grandes con casos confirmados, media, mediana, desviaciónestándar, varianza y análisis de la evolución en el número de infecciones y muertes por COVID- 19. Los datos se tabularon usando los programas TABNET y Microsoft Office Excel 2019 Se confirmaron 10,914 casos de COVID-19 en la ciudad de Teresina-PI y se observó una tendencia al alzaenla frecuencia de lãs notificaciones. Hubo un predominio de casos confirmados en mujeres (n = 6058; 55.51%), con edades entre 30 y 39 años (n = 2,799; 25.6%) y 40 a 49 años (n = 2,012; 18, 5%). Mientras que, enrelacióncon los fallecidos, fueen el sexo masculino (n = 303; 55.9%), con una letalidad de 6.23%, y en el grupo de edad de 70 a 79 (n = 134; 25.0 %) y 80 a 89 (n = 126; 23.2%), con una letalidad de 45.3% y 62% respectivamente. Y el 82% de los pacientes tenían comorbilidades. También se observo la mayor incidencia de muertes em los barrios de Itararé con 27.50%, seguido de Promorarcon 15.50%, sin embargo, lãs confirmaciones de casos con 20% de Itararé y 14% de Mocambinho. El comportamiento de la pandemia está aumentando em la ciudad de Teresina-PI, lo que destaca la necesidad de más medidas de contención.Este estudo objetivou analisar o perfil epidemiológico dos principais indicadores de saúde de COVID-19 em Teresina-PI. Trata-se de um levantamento epidemiológico, descritivo e quantitativo de casos por COVID-19 notificados na cidade de Teresina-PI, no período de 13de março a12 de julho de 2020. Os dados foram analisados a partir dos informes do boletim epidemiológico de saúde na cidade disponibilizada pela Fundação Municipal de Saúde (FMS). As variáveis avaliadas foram a faixa-etária, gênero, taxa de letalidade, comorbidades, óbitos, casos confirmados, ao dez maiores bairros com casos confirmados, média, mediana, desvio padrão, variância e análise da evolução no número de infecções e óbitos pela COVID-19. Tabularam-se os dados, utilizando os programas TABNET e Microsoft Office Excel 2019. Foram confirmados 10.914 casos de COVID-19 na cidade de Teresina-PI e observou-se uma tendência de aumento na frequência de notificação. Houve predominância nos casos confirmados no sexo feminino (n=6058; 55,51%), na faixa etária de 30 a 39 anos (n=2.799;25,6%) e de 40  a 49 anos (n=2.012; 18,5%). Enquanto, em relação aos que chegaram a óbito, foi no sexo masculino (n=303; 55,9%), com letalidade de 6,23%, e na faixa etária de 70 anos a 79 (n=134; 25,0%) e 80 a 89 (n=126; 23,2%), com letalidade de 45,3% e de 62% respectivamente. E 82% dos pacientes apresentavam comorbidades. Percebeu-se ainda a maior incidência de óbitos nos bairros do Itararé 27,50%, seguida por Promorar com 15,50%. Porém, de confirmações de casos 20% Itararé e 14% Mocambinho.
