The nursing consultation: contributions in prenatal care

Resumo: This study had the contribution of the nursing consultation in prenatal care. This qualitative study was conducted in a municipality in the southwestern state of Paraná, Brazil. Seven nurses participated in prenatal care in the basic network of the municipality. Participant observation and semi-structured interviews were used. The data were analyzed through the operative proposal. The nursing consultation in prenatal care requires technical-scientific knowledge, involvement and commitment of the professional. Although health education groups were established in the routine of care for pregnant women, in nursing consultations these actions were more frequent, revealing one of the contributions of the nursing consultation in prenatal care. The insertion of nurses in prenatal care, through nursing consultation, enables the implementation of a care model, focused on integrality of women's health care.

Este estudio cualitativo se llevó a cabo en un municipio en el estado suroeste de Paraná, Brasil. Siete enfermeras participaron en la atención prenatal en la red básica del municipio. Se utilizó la observación de los participantes y las entrevistas semiestructuradas. Los datos fueron analizados a través de la propuesta operativa. La consulta de enfermería en atención prenatal requiere conocimientos técnico-científicos, participación y compromiso del profesional. Aunque se establecieron grupos de educación sanitaria en la rutina de atención a las mujeres embarazadas, en las consultas de enfermería estas acciones fueron más frecuentes, revelando una de las contribuciones de la consulta de enfermería en atención prenatal. La inserción de las enfermeras en la atención prenatal, a través de la consulta de enfermería, permite la implementación de un modelo de atención, centrado en la integralidad de la atención de la salud de las mujeres.Este estudo teve como conhecer as contribuições da consulta de enfermagem na atenção pré-natal. Estudo qualitativo, realizado em município do sudoeste do Estado do Paraná, Brasil. Participaram sete enfermeiras, atuantes na atenção pré-natal na rede básica do município. Foram utilizadas as técnicas de observação participante e entrevista semiestruturada. Os dados foram analisados por meio da proposta operativa. A consulta de enfermagem na atenção pré-natal requer conhecimento técnico-científico, envolvimento e comprometimento do profissional. Embora os grupos de educação em saúde estivessem instituídos na rotina de cuidado à gestante, nas consultas de enfermagem essas ações eram mais frequentes, revelando uma das contribuições da consulta de enfermagem na atenção pré-natal.
