Resumo: Evidence-based nursing becomes fundamental and decisive in care, generating lower rates of patient harm and consequent reduction in the cost of hospitalization. Thus, the use of ultrasound in emergency is based on evidence-based practice, complementing and providing methodological support resources in the nursing process. Objective: To understand the professional nurse's perspective on the use of ultrasound in the emergency department. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review study. Results: After using the search mechanisms and pre-established criteria, a total of 19 articles could be found, available in integrative and that answered the guiding question of this study. Conclusion: In summary, therefore, the use of this tool by nurses is supported and should be encouraged, since it permeates the nursing care process as a whole. With knowledge, skill and attitude towards its use, there are no obstacles to the use of this imaging resource.
