THE PERFORMANCE OF SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY TEACHER MEDIATORS IN LONDRINA, PR, FACING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Resumo: | This study discusses the performance of the School and Community Teacher Mediator at public schools from the Municipal Secretariat of Education in Londrina, PR, while facing the Covid-19 pandemic, between the years 2020 to 2022, and also analyzes the possibilities and limitations on the work performed by this professional, as well as the impact of the pandemic on school evasion/ dropout. This is a qualitative research, of a bibliographical and documental nature. From the data analyzed, the results indicate that the social inequality that existed prior to the Covid-19 pandemic promoted an even greater impact of the disease on the poorest students, those in a situation of social vulnerability. They also point out that the School and Community Teacher Mediator played a very important role in the realization of the right to education, to food, in the prevention of school dropouts and situations of violence against children and adolescents. Despite the efforts of the School and Community Teacher Mediator, it is concluded that the remote teaching format, adopted in the Covid-19 pandemic, did not reach all students equally, with school dropout being a partially overcome demand. |

Este estudo discute a atuação do Professor Mediador Escolar e Comunitário nas escolas da Rede Municipal de Educação de Londrina, PR, no contexto da pandemia da Covid-19, no período compreendido entre os anos de 2020 a 2022 e analisa, também, as possibilidades e limites no trabalho desempenhado por esse profissional, assim como os reflexos da pandemia na evasão/ abandono escolar. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, de natureza bibliográfica e documental. A partir dos dados analisados, os resultados apontam que a desigualdade social já existente anterior à pandemia da Covid-19 promoveu um impacto ainda maior da doença sobre os alunos mais pobres, em situação de vulnerabilidade social. Apontam, também, que o Professor Mediador Escolar e Comunitário exerceu um papel de suma importância na efetivação do direito à educação, à alimentação, na prevenção da evasão escolar e de situações de violência contra crianças e adolescentes. Apesar dos esforços do Professor Mediador Escolar e Comunitário, conclui-se que o formato de ensino remoto, adotado na pandemia da Covid -19, não alcançou a todos os alunos igualmente, sendo a evasão escolar uma demanda superada parcialmente.
