Resumo: In the last decades, there has been observed a form of school violence, with specific characteristics, called bullying, defined as a psychological or physical intimidation, intentional and repeated, directed at a person seen as fragile by his aggressors. The school seems to contribute to the existence of this form of violence by reinforcing classificatory hierarchies, as seen in the double hierarchy defined by Adorno. The article aimed to understand the teachers perception of bullying, analyzing the definition attributed by them, how they identify the cases and how they characterize the profile of students who play the role of victims and aggressors. The analyzes were performed through interviews with public school teachers and questionnaires applied to the students in their selected classes. It was noticed the lack of conceptual clarity about bullying and, in some cases, a relativization of the situations identified as something common to the school routine or seen as a joke by the teachers. Part of these results found similarity with the quantitative data generated by the questionnaire applied to the students. It is understood that the educational environment is part of the global society and ends up being (re)producer of violence.

Part of these results found similarity with the quantitative data generated by the questionnaire applied to the students. It is understood that the educational environment is part of the global society and ends up being (re)producer of violence.
