Resumo: Objective: To analyze the immediate effects of transcutaneous nerve stimulation (TENS) and chiropractic manipulation associated or not with individuals with chronic neck pain. Methods: 40 volunteers were randomized into four groups that received a single intervention: G1: chiropractic manipulation; G2: Control; G3: TENS and G4: TENS + chiropractic manipulation. The variables analyzed were: Visual Analogue Scale, Range of Motion (ROM) and Neck Disability Index (NDI).Results: There was a significant reduction in pain in G1 compared to G2 (p <0.0001). In the movements of flexion and right lateral inclination, there was a significant increase (p <0.05) in groups 1 and 4 in relation to groups 2 and 3. In the items of the NDI: weight lifting, specific headache, quality of sleep and leisure, groups 1 and 4 showed significant improvement in relation to G2.Conclusion: Chiropractic care with and without TENS was effective in increasing ROM and NDI items. The combination of therapies did not result in gains in the management of neck pain compared to unimodal treatments.Primary Identifier Number: RBR-6c65dw - Brazilian Clinical Trials Registry (ReBEC).
