Hypermedia structure in Moodle for continuing teacher education in distance learning courses

Resumo: | We discuss the potential of hypermedia structure in Moodle in a continuing teacher education in distance learning course called Media in Education. This course is offered in distance modality by the Federal University of Pelotas in partnership with the Open University of Brazil. Thus, we conducted a case study from the curriculum component of Scientific Research Methodology of this course, in which we perceive to be necessary to pay attention to the selection and organization of materials that compose the hypermedia structure of the course of a continuing teacher education in Moodle for its success. We detected that may be a difference to students learning and involvement with the contents to be studied in a curriculum component. We also observed that this structure, in Moodle, provides insights to enhance interaction, interactivity and developments the students' cognitive flexibility. Furthermore, we note that the navigation in a hypermedia regarding the steps and the cognitive styles of students, because it allows the content studied to be accessed in a non- linear way. It can be accessed according to the interest of each student and mediated by different media. Because of this, course participants could make associations between the subjects studied in the curriculum component, which led to the expansion of their view on the topics discussed and subsequently the application of this knowledge in the elaboration and development of their own research project aiming at performing the final course work. |

Esse curso é oferecido na modalidade a distância pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas em parceria com a Universidade Aberta do Brasil. Assim, realizamos um Estudo de Caso a partir do componente curricular Metodologia de Pesquisa Científica desse curso, no qual foi possível perceber que é necessário dar atenção à seleção e organização dos materiais que irão compor a estrutura hipermidiática dos componentes curriculares de um curso de formação continuada no Moodle a fim de que obtenha êxito. Detectamos que isso faz diferença no que tange a aprendizagem e o envolvimento dos professores cursistas com os conteúdos a serem trabalhados em um curso. Também observamos que essa estrutura, no Moodle, apresenta subsídios para potencializar a interação, a interatividade e o desenvolvimento da flexibilidade cognitiva dos cursistas. Além disso, percebemos que a navegação em uma hipermídia respeita o ritmo e os estilos cognitivos dos cursistas, porque possibilita que os conteúdos a serem estudados sejam acessados de forma não linear, uma vez que se pode acessá-los conforme o interesse de cada cursista e mediados por diferentes mídias.
