Resumo: O propósito deste estudo é descrever a mordida abertaanterior, citando suas etiologias, complicações e tratamentos.Ilustraremos um caso clínico envolvendo esta má oclusãodentária, dando ênfase na escolha do esporão, um dispositivofixo, como opção de tratamento. Que neste caso foifixado à face palatina dos incisivos centrais superiores,devido à postura alta da língua. Após 10 meses utilizando odispositivo, observou-se correção da oclusão e melhora noaspecto facial do paciente.
