Resumo: | The objective of this study was to evaluate the partial replacement of soybean meal by different protein sources in piglets feeding in the nursery phase and its effects on feed digestibility, nitrogen balance, performance and blood parameters. In the experiment I, 24 were used, crossbreed entire males swines, with initial body weight of 18.28 ± 0.7 kg were distributed in a randomized complete block design, consisting of three treatments (protein sources), eight replicates and one swine per experimental unit (metabolism cages). In the experiment II, 1,843 were used, crossbreed entire males and females piglets, with initial body weight of 6.79 ± 0.90 kg were distributed in a completely randomized experimental design, in a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement (two sexes and three protein sources), 13 replicates of 46 to 53 animals per experimental unit. The different protein sources were: Fish Meal - FM, Soybean Protein Concentrate - SPC and Soybean Meal - SM, being the control diet. In the pre-starter II and starter phases, the blood was collected from 235 animals, for the determination of plasma urea and glucose. For the digestibility assay, no differences (p>0.05) were obtained between the protein sources for the apparent digestibility coefficients. There was an effect (p<0.05) of treatment on the digestible protein, wherein swines fed SM had better digestibility. A difference (p<0.05) was obtained between protein sources in total nitrogen excretion (g/kg PV0.75/day), wherein swines fed SM had higher excretion. There was no effect (p> 0.05) of treatment for the other variables of the nitrogen balance, neither for the protein balance. In experiment II, there was no interaction effect (p>0.05) of protein sources and sex in the performance in the nursery phases. There was a difference (p<0.01) between sex in the starter phase and in the total period only for the daily feed intake (DFI), wherein the females presented superior feed intake in relation to the males. In the starter phase and in the total period, there was a difference (p<0.01) between the protein sources for the DFI, final weight and for the daily weight gain, since the highest averages were obtained by the swines fed with FM and SPC. For urea and glucose in the pre-starter II phase, a difference (p<0.05) was obtained between the protein sources, wherein swines fed FM and SPC had lower levels of urea and higher levels for glucose when fed with SPC. For urea in the starter phase, the animals fed with FM and SPC presented lower levels (p<0.05). For glucose, there was no interaction effect (p>0.05) in the pre-starter II and starter phases. There was a difference (p<0.05) between sex in the starter phase on urea, wherein males presented lower levels of urea. The use of soybean meal as a conventional protein source in the starter phase improves the digestibility of the protein and influences the total excretion of nitrogen. The use of fish meal and soybean protein concentrate in feeds improves the final weight of the animals in the starter phase and reduces plasma urea levels in the pre-starter II and starter phases. |

Submitted by Helena Bejio (helena.bejio@unioeste.br) on 2017-11-17T00:14:18Z No. of bitstreams: 2 Jansller_L_Genova_2017(1).pdf: 1145633 bytes, checksum: 8f7ea8a1e07cb2469855be58a0002117 (MD5) license_rdf: 0 bytes, checksum: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2017-11-17T00:14:18Z (GMT). The objective of this study was to evaluate the partial replacement of soybean meal by different protein sources in piglets feeding in the nursery phase and its effects on feed digestibility, nitrogen balance, performance and blood parameters. |
