Resumo: From country historically receiver of international migrants, over the last decades  Brazil started to lose population to other contries. The analysis of the first data released from Census 2010 suggests that this could be reversing itself. Based on the application of indirect  techniques to data from 2000 and 2010 census, I perceive that Brazil's international net migration was, in the 2000s, with values around zero and may even to have been positive. This can be both a consequence of reduced emigration of individuals residing in the country, as the increase in total number of international immigrants. As the data on migration and census coverage have not been disclosed, the conclusions of this work should be taken in a preliminary way. However, there is evidence that Brazil's participation in the phenomenon of international migration is both a region of attraction as the expulsion of the population

As the data on migration and census coverage have not been disclosed, the conclusions of this work should be taken in a preliminary way. However, there is evidence that Brazil's participation in the phenomenon of international migration is both a region of attraction as the expulsion of the populationDe país historicamente receptor de imigrantes internacionais, nas últimas décadas do século passado o Brasil passou a perder população para o resto do mundo. EdUnioeste2000-01-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/gepec/article/view/629010.48075/igepec.v15i3.6290Informe GEPEC; v. 15 n. 3 (2011); 387-3971679-415X1676-067010.48075/igepec.v15i3reponame:Informe Gepec (Online)instname:Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná (UNIOESTE)instacron:UNIOESTEporhttps://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/gepec/article/view/6290/4800Barbosa de Campos, Mardeninfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-05-16T22:13:55Zoai:ojs.e-revista.unioeste.br:article/6290Revistahttps://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/gepecPUBhttps://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/gepec/oairevista.gepec@gmail.com1679-415X1676-0670opendoar:2023-05-16T22:13:55Informe Gepec (Online) - Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná (UNIOESTE)false
