LOCAL PRODUCTIVE ARRANGEMENTS OF THE CLOTHING INDUSTRY IN PARANÁ: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

The central question proposed in this paper refers to a critical review of six cases of clothing Local Productive Arrangements (LPAs) located in the state of Paraná. The goal is to make comparative analysis between the LPAs, revealing their differences and similarities. The used data were based on a research project developed jointly by the secretary of planning of Paraná state, IPARDES and several state higher education institutions. The obtained results revealed several fragilities, with emphasis on the inter-business relations and relations with other actors. It was also present fragility in the structure of governance which has been consolidated only in half of the LPAs. Such fact results from the low involvement of the actors belonging to the analyzed Productive Arrangements, implying in reduced joint actions.
