Summary: The aim of this article is to analyze, from the perspective of the Water Footprint and its blue, green and gray dimensions, the soybean production process in the municipalities of Barreiras, São Desidério, Formosa do Rio Preto and Luís Eduardo Magalhães, located in the western region of Bahia, during the period from 2006 to 2019. The methodology proposed by Hoekstra et al. (2011) to estimate the total volumes of water and by type of consumption for each municipality. The largest blue water footprints were found in Formosa do Rio Preto, green in Barreiras, and gray in São Desidério and Formosa do Rio Preto. These last two municipalities also consumed the largest volumes of virtual water for soybean production.

La metodología propuesta por Hoekstra et al. (2011) para estimar los volúmenes totales de agua y por tipo de consumo para cada municipio. Las huellas hídricas azules más grandes se encontraron en Formosa do Rio Preto, las verdes en Barreiras y las grises en São Desidério y Formosa do Rio Preto. Estos dos últimos municipios también consumieron los mayores volúmenes de agua virtual para la producción de soja.O objetivo deste artigo é analisar, sob a ótica da Pegada Hídrica e suas dimensões azul, verde e cinza, o processo de produção da soja nos municípios de Barreiras, São Desidério, Formosa do Rio Preto e Luís Eduardo Magalhães, localizados na região Oeste da Bahia, durante o período de 2006 a 2019. Adotou-se a metodologia proposta por Hoekstra et al. (2011) para estimar os volumes totais de água e por tipo de consumo para cada município. As maiores pegadas hídricas azul foram encontradas em Formosa do Rio Preto, verde em Barreiras e cinza em São Desidério e Formosa do Rio Preto. Nestes dois últimos municípios também foram consumidos os maiores volumes de água virtual para a produção de soja.
