Resumo: Abstract: This study analyzes the efficacy of public policies concerning Sustainable Rural Development in the State of Paraná. It is a paperwork with descriptive and deductive orientation character, with longitudinal cut from 2010 to 2013. The data with secondary origin were collected from the State of Paraná official sites, being treated in percentage generating indicators and indexes that present how the state execute their programs related to Sustainable Rural Development. The study results reveal that Paraná’s Pluriannual Plan for 2012 to 2015 period projected a growth of 37,6% in comparison with the previous plan, while the Rural Development Programs received only 5,61% growth in the same time period. At the budget execution, the actions targeted at the sector were not totally efficient, once they did not keep pace with the global budget execution index.   Key words: Sustainable Rural Development; Efficacy; Public Policies; Budget Execution; State of Paraná.

Trata-se de um trabalho de cunho descritivo e orientação dedutiva, com corte longitudinal de 2010 a 2013. Os dados de origem secundária foram coletados nos portais oficiais do Estado do Paraná, sendo tratados em porcentagem, gerando indicadores e índices que apresentam como o estado executa seus programas relacionados ao Desenvolvimento Rural Sustentável. Os resultados do estudo revelam que o Paraná em seu Plano Plurianual (PPA) para o período de 2012 a 2015 projetou um crescimento de 37,67% em comparação ao PPA anterior, enquanto os Programas de Desenvolvimento Rural Sustentável receberam apenas 5,61% de aumento no mesmo período.
