Summary: This article aims to analyze the scientific production about Institutional Theory indexed in Scopus database addressed to the Management area from 2000 to 2013. It was evidenced: the most prolific author on Institutional theory is Currie, G.; the universities with higher number of publications were University of Alberta and University of Nottingham. Within the national scenery, two journals appeared, RAE – Revista de Administração de Empresas and Revista de Administração pública; in the international scenery, the journals which present higher detachment are Human Relations, Journal of Business Ethics, Business Strategy and the Environment, and Critical Perspectives on Accounting. Knowledge area which approaches the Institutional Theory is predominantly in Social Sciences, and corresponds to 40.4% of total.

Fue evidenciado que: el autor más prolífico sobre Teoría Institucional es Currie, G.; las universidades con más publicaciones fueron University of Alberta y University of Nottingham. En el escenario nacional, dos periódicos científicos aparecen, RAE – Revista de Administração de Empresas y la Revista de Administração pública; en el escenario internacional, los periódicos científicos que poseen más destaque son Human Relations, Journal of Business Ethics, Business Strategy and the Environment y Critical Perspectives on Accounting. El área de conocimiento que aborda la Teoría Institucional es predominante en las ciencias sociales y corresponde a 40,4% del total.O presente artigo teve como objetivo analisar a produção científica sobre Teoria Institucional indexada na base de dados Scopus voltada para a área de Administração, no período de 2000 a 2013. Evidenciou-se que: o autor mais prolífico sobre a temática da Teoria Institucional é Currie, G.; as universidades com maior publicação foram a University of Alberta e University of Nottingham.
