TOPICALITY IN WRITTEN PRODUCTIONS OF STUDENTS IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION

Resumo: This article, theoretically anchored in Textual-Interactive Grammar, aims to discuss the regularity of a language unit within the scope of textual organization, in addition to collaborating in reflection on new possibilities regarding the teaching and learning of writing. To this end, it analyzes Topicality at its two levels of functioning – the intertopic organization and the intratopic organization, seeking to verify whether this process is systematic or whether it is variable. The adopted methodology assumes the discursive topic as an analysis category and investigates 47 written productions by higher education students. This investigation makes it possible to understand how elements of an essentially textual nature are organized and to maintain that the text is configured as a very systematic unit, as it presents its own organization, based on particular constituent principles.

Para ello, analiza la Topicalidad en sus dos niveles de funcionamiento, la organización intertópica y la organización intratópica, con el propósito de verificar si dicho proceso es sistemático o variable. La metodología adoptada presume el tópico discursivo como categoría de análisis e investiga 47 producciones escritas de estudiantes de educación superior. Esta investigación permite comprender cómo se organizan los elementos de naturaleza esencialmente textual y sostener que el texto se configura como una unidad bastante sistemática, ya que presenta una organización propia basada en principios constituyentes particulares.Este artigo, ancorado teoricamente na Gramática Textual-Interativa, tem por objetivo discutir a regularidade de uma unidade da língua no âmbito da organização textual, além de colaborar na reflexão acerca de novas possibilidades no que tange ao ensino e à aprendizagem da escrita. Para tal, analisa a Topicalidade em seus dois níveis de funcionamento – a organização intertópica e a organização intratópica –, procurando verificar se tal processo é sistemático ou se é variável. A metodologia adotada presume o tópico discursivo como categoria de análise e investiga 47 produções escritas de estudantes do ensino superior.
