Genres and textbooks: from theory to praxis

Resumo: The objective of this article is to investigate a significant picture of the didactic transposition of the genre theory, through the analysis of a chapter of the textbook “Português: Linguagens” (Cereja & Magalhães, 2004), whose object of work is the genre “review”. The analysis criteria were established from the reading of the teacher’s manual that follows the textbook, where the authors explain that the proposed activities for the chapters of “textual production” are based in the Bakhtinian genre theory. To understand the didactic treatment the authors give to textual production – considering that the chapter under analysis constitutes a set of activities centered on a textual genre –, we based the analysis on socio-discursive interactionism (BRONCKART, 2003) and on the research of Dolz, Noverraz and Schneuwly (2004) about didactic sequences centered on textual genres.

Los criterios de análisis fueron establecidos a partir de la lectura del manual del profesor que acompaña el libro didáctico, en el cual los autores explicitan que las actividades propuestas para los capítulos de “producción textual” están basadas en la teoría de géneros de Bajtín. Para aprehender el tratamiento didáctico que los autores dan a la producción textual – considerando que el capítulo en análisis constituye un conjunto de actividades centrado en un género textual – fundamentamos el análisis en el abordaje teórico del interaccionismo socio-discursivo (BRONCKART, 2003) y en las investigaciones de Dolz, Noverraz e Schneuwly (2004) sobre secuencias didácticas centradas en géneros textuales.L’objectif de cet article est celui de faire la recherche d’un tableau significatif de la transposition didactique de la théorie des genres textuels, à partir de l’analyse d’un chapitre du livre « Portugais : langages »  (CEREJA ; MAGALHÃES, 2004), dont l’objet de travail est le genre « critique ». Les critères d’analyse ont été établis à partir de la lecture du manuel du professeur qui vient avec le livre didactique, et dans lequel, les auteurs précisent que les activités proposées pour les chapitres de la « production textuelle » sont fondées dans la théorie de genres bakhtinienne. Pour saisir le traitement didactique que les auteurs donnent à la production textuelle – tout en considérant que le chapitre analysé constitue un ensemble d’activités focalisées dans la théorie de l’interactionnisme socio-discursif (BRONCKART, 2003) et dans les recherches de Dolz, Noverraz et Schneuwly (2004) sur les séquences didactiques centrées sur le genres textuels.O objetivo do artigo em pauta é investigar um quadro significativo da transposição didática da teoria dos gêneros textuais, a partir da análise de um capítulo do livro "Português: linguagens" (CEREJA; MAGALHÃES, 2004), cujo objeto de trabalho é o gênero "crítica". Os critérios de análise foram estabelecidos a partir da leitura do manual do professor que acompanha o livro didático, e, nele, os autores explicitam que as atividades propostas para os capítulos de "produção textual" são embasadas na teoria de gêneros bakhtiniana.
