Resumo: This article examines life paths of young black women who entered by the quota system at the University of Brasilia, as well as their experiences related to gender discrimination and ethnic-racial prejudice, stereotypes and ways of coping. Starting at narrative interviews conducted with students of Law and Education we observed that the family, school, and university produce and reproduce racism built throughout history. Given this, some young people respond with apathy; however, others are combative. The entry in the university at the same time increased the prospects for the professional future, and also revealed situations of racism existing in the institution. This study provides insights to the discussion on the implementation of quota policies in Brazil, which are becoming increasingly able to repair historic inequalities.

A partir de entrevistas narrativas realizadas con estudiantes de los cursos de Derecho y Pedagogía fue posible verificar que la familia, la escuela y la universidad producen y reproducen el racismo construido a por toda su historia. Delante de eso, algunas jóvenes reaccionan con apatía, sin embargo, otras son combativas. El acceso a la universidad, al mismo tiempo en que amplió las perspectivas con relación del futuro profesional, también reveló situaciones de racismo existentes en la institución. Este estudio ofrece subsidios para discusión sobre la implantación de la política de cotas en Brasil, las cuales son vistas se configurando como posibilidad de reparo histórico de desigualdades.O presente artigo analisa trajetórias biográficas de jovens negras que ingressaram pelo sistema de cotas na Universidade de Brasília, bem como suas experiências relacionadas à discriminação de gênero e étnico-racial, preconceito, estereótipos e formas de enfrentamento. A partir de entrevistas narrativas realizadas com estudantes dos cursos de Direito e Pedagogia, foi possível verificar que a família, a escola e a universidade produzem e reproduzem o racismo construído ao longo da história. Diante disso, algumas jovens reagem com apatia, no entanto, outras são combativas. O ingresso na universidade ao mesmo tempo em que ampliou as perspectivas com relação ao futuro profissional, também revelou situações de racismo existentes na instituição.
