Resumo: | Viral hepatitis B and C are inflammations of the liver tissue that annually affect thousands of people in the world and are considered global public health problems. The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced measures to avoid contamination that have delayed the diagnosis of other infections, including hepatitis. The aim of this study was to analyze the reported cases of hepatitis B and C in Rondonópolis (MT) during the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a documentary, descriptive and retrospective field research, with a quantitative approach, covering the data collected regarding hepatitis B and C in Rondonópolis (MT) from March 2020 to March 2022. The data were collected in the Specialized Care, and the statistical analyses were performed using the Software R, the chi-square test and Kendall's correlation (p-value<0.05). This research has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rondonópolis. A total of 59 notifications were analyzed, 49.15% for hepatitis B and 50.85% for hepatitis C. The greatest number of cases was registered in 2021, with the highest prevalence of cases in the male gender, adults, brown, residing in urban areas, non-pregnant women, without associated aggravation, mechanical source of infection person/person, chronic clinical form/asymptomatic carrier, by laboratory confirmation and complete vaccination schedule. It is concluded that there was a low notification of cases during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Health services should plan actions for health promotion, disease prevention and early diagnosis of hepatitis, including this public |

Health services should plan actions for health promotion, disease prevention and early diagnosis of hepatitis, including this publicAs hepatites virais B e C são inflamações do tecido hepático que acometem anualmente milhares de pessoas no mundo e são consideradas agravos de saúde pública mundial.
