Geoprocessamento aplicado a análise das mudanças de usos da terra na microbacia do córrego Monjolinho

Over the last decades, has been occurred an enlargement of the negative environmental impacts caused by the aggressive form by which human beings appropriate nature. It is believed that the origin of this and some other problems is the misuse of the land by human activities. In this case, the APProach of land use dynamic in microbasins is coherent and provides a suitable method to understand the several environmental problems that may occur. From these issues, this paper aimed to analyze the land use changes in the microbasin of Monjolinho stream, located in the city of Ourinhos, SP, in the years 1972 and 2014, by means of Geoprocessing techniques in a Geographical Information System (GIS) environment. The results showed that the microbasin of Monjolinho stream, whose total area is 370,5 hectares, has undergone important changes in land use, mainly in its urban area, which occupied 22,5 % in 1972 and went to 66,4 % ha in 2014. On the other hand, important land uses for water infiltration in the microbasin lost part of their area, such as pasture, which represented 16,5 % in 1972 and decreased to 10,7 % in 2014 and the temporary crops, which decreased from 24 % to 0,8 %. Thereby, a considerable decrease in green and permeable areas was found, concurrently with an increase in the urban area, changes that are problematic when unplanned, as they bring as a consequence a number of problems mainly related to changes in the local hydrological cycle, increasing the overland flow rates and reducing the infiltration of rainwater, which causes several problems in urban drainage, soil erosion, silting of streams, among others, reaching the population and its heritage
