Aplicação de técnicas conservadoras para a recuperação estética do sorriso, após a remoção de braquetes ortodônticos

Resumo: The use of brackets during orthodontic treatment makes it extremely difficult to hygienize adequately, leading to the accumulation of biofilm in this region. In front of this, at the end of the orthodontic treatment and with the removal of the brackets, white spots may be present, formed around the brackets. The objective of this study was to report the application of conservative techniques for the aesthetic recovery of the smile, after the removal of orthodontic brackets. A 33year-old patient complained about the appearance of her smile due to the presence of white spots present on the buccal/proximal surface of the maxillary incisors, which became evident after the orthodontic brackets be removed. At the clinical examination was observed that white enamel spots had a hard texture; being proposed initially, the home-use dental bleaching with carbamide peroxide, to obtain lighter teeth to mask the white spots present in the surface of the dental enamel. At the end of the bleaching procedure, the macroabrasion of the most obvious spots was carried out, which made it possible to prove that they were deep white spots and not indicative to be removed with the application of microabrasive products. Thus, the removal was carried out using a diamond tip, followed by direct restorative procedure with composite resins. After completion of the clinical cases, it was concluded that careful and conservative planning, combined with the knowledge of different techniques, was fundamental for effective aesthetic recovery of the patient's smile and self-esteem

Diante disso, ao final do tratamento ortodôntico e com a remoção dos braquetes; pode-se deparar com a presença de manchas brancas, formadas ao redor dos braquetes. O objetivo desse trabalho foi relatar a aplicação de técnicas conservadoras para a recuperação estética do sorriso, após a remoção de braquetes ortodônticos. Paciente de 33 anos de idade, queixava-se da aparência do seu sorriso devido à presença de manchas brancas presentes na face vestibular/proximal dos dentes anteriores superiores, que ficaram evidentes após a remoção dos braquetes ortodônticos. Ao exame clínico constatou-se que as manchas brancas de esmalte apresentavam textura dura; sendo proposto inicialmente, o clareamento dental caseiro com peróxido de carbamida, para obtenção de dentes mais claros e com isso mascarar as manchas brancas presentes na superfície do esmalte dental. Ao final do procedimento clareador, foi realizado a macrobrasão das manchas mais evidentes, que possibilitou evidenciar que tratavam-se de manchas brancas profundas e não indicativas para serem removidas com a aplicação de produtos microabrasivos. Dessa forma, foi realizada a remoção com auxílio de ponta diamantada, seguido de procedimento restaurador direto com resinas compostas.
