Resumo: The Chilean political process is viewed from an unusual angle, through the conjunction of a presentation of the main facts with an analysis of the main currents of interpretation. The background of the analysis is given by the present political context, which, it is argued, opens the possibility of putting again on the rails a democratization which has lost itself.
