Resumo: Taken as part of the underground music, funk is a cultural manifestation of the most complex there. Possessing a big number of subgenres, funk is seen by the mainstream media as a minor and vulgar music; this narrative ends to create a consensus among most of our society. But this is not quite true about him. This present study aims to address the musical/cultural movement funk from the perspective of Popular Song. To this end it will address the historical context in which it appears, and the rhythmic changes of hits over the years. Therefore, taking a more global view of the historic process and the musical arrangement that is produced by the DJ with the beats, we will understand how these factors relate with the vocal production (made by the MC) in various subgenres of funk universe

Possuindo um grande número de subgêneros, o funk é visto pela grande mídia como uma música menor e vulgar; essa narrativa termina por criar um consenso entre grande parte de nossa sociedade. Porém essa não é bem a realidade em relação a ele. O presente trabalho visa abordar o movimento musical/cultura funk sob a perspectiva da Canção Popular. Para tal será abordado o contexto histórico em que está inserido, bem como as transformações rítmicas das batidas ao longo dos anos.
