Resolução estética do sorriso de pacientes que apresentam vedamento labial deficiente

Resumo: The presence of stain and surface irregularities on the buccal of anterior teeth have a significant effect on the smile aesthetics. Among the treatment options for these conditions, we highlight the dental enamel microabrasion technique and dental bleaching. The enamel microabrasion is indicated for all stains superficially present on enamel, regardless of their color, since they are hard texture and intrinsic feature to adamantine tissue. When faced to stains on incisal, that can be associated with poor lip sealing, the enamel microabrasion can be delayed or contraindicated, because the absence of the sealing hinders the dental pellicle formation, causing dehydration of the structure, promoting appearance of new stains. In these cases, labial repositioning is the most indicated, through educative phonoaudiology techniques of lip. Associated with this procedure, the dental whitening could also be performed in an attempt to mask the stains present on the enamel and prevent the performance of enamel microabrasion. These were the goals to be presented in this study with the description of all the clinical steps of a case report

Dentre as opções de tratamento para estas condições, destacam-se a técnica da microabrasão do esmalte dental e o clareamento dentinário. A microabrasão do esmalte é indicada para todas as manchas presentes superficialmente ao esmalte, independente de sua coloração, desde que sejam de textura dura e de características intrínsecas ao tecido adamantino. Quando diante de manchas presentes no terço incisal, que podem estar associadas ao vedamento labial deficiente, a microabrasão do esmalte pode ser postergada ou contraindicada, pois a ausência do vedamento dificulta a formação da película umedecedora do esmalte, causando a desidratação da estrutura, favorecendo o aparecimento de novas manchas. Nestes casos, inicialmente o reposicionamento labial é o mais indicado, por meio de técnicas de fonoaudiologia educativas do lábio. Associado a este procedimento, o clareamento dentinário também poderia ser realizado, na tentativa de mascarar as manchas presentes no esmalte e evitar a realização da microabrasão do esmalte.
