External dental bleaching was performed on discolored traumatized teeth that presented complete pulpal obliteration without any evidence of periapical pathosis. The vitality of the pulp, symptoms, and periapical pathosis usually determine whether external or internal bleaching is used. In this case, dental bleaching was performed a combined treatment of carbamide peroxide with a relatively low concentration agent delivered in a custom-fabricated tray (15% carbamide peroxide-Opalescence 15%-Ultradent Products, Inc., South Jordan, USA) and in-office bleaching using a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide (Opalescence XTRA Boost PF 38%-Ultradent Products, Inc., South Jordan, USA). The application of these dental bleaching techniques has allowed a satisfactory final result, restoring the aesthetics of the smile of our patient with a single discolored tooth
