Resumo: | Cherubism is a rare bone inherited disorder, autosomal, dominant, non-neoplastic, characterized by a generally bilateral and painless bone augmentation of the maxilla and mandible in children. Diagnosis usually is done by radiographic exams, histological exams, clinical evolution of the disease and heredity. Because it happens bilaterally in the maxilla and mandible it promotes an increase in the volume of the cheeks and modifies eyes aspect, giving the impression of one always be looking to the sky, making facial appearance, of those who have the injury, be compared to baroque and/or renaissance cherubim. Cherubism injuries are firm and rigid to palpation and might be followed by cervical lymphadenopathy. Radiographically are observed multiple radiolucent injuries, rarely unilocular, with well-defined limits, cortical bone expansion in a symmetrical way giving the appearance of ' soap bubble'. Panoramic radiography is very useful in classical cases of Cherubism, since it provides a sharp image, mainly of the mandible. In turn, computerized tomography (CT) plays an important role in the diagnosis of atypical Cherubism cases, keeping in mind that CT allows us to accurately visualize the involvement of all facial structures, for example maxillary sinus and the floor of the orbit. The definite diagnosis is histological, with samples randomly distributed showing multinucleated giant cells and vascular spaces inside a stromal fibrous conjunctive tissue. The cause for Cherubism is still unknown. As such, there is no defined Protocol over the specific treatment of the injury, although is believed that the injury may naturally revert from the moment the child reaches puberty. This paper work reports the case of a female patient, thirteen years old who exhibited evident characteristics of Cherubism |

This paper work reports the case of a female patient, thirteen years old who exhibited evident characteristics of CherubismO Querubismo é uma desordem óssea hereditária rara, autossômica, dominante, não neoplásica, caracterizada por aumento ósseo geralmente bilateral e indolor da maxila e mandíbula em crianças. A causa do Querubismo ainda permanece desconhecida.
