Resumo: The complete domain in reading and writing are basic skills for life in society, especially in contemporaneous times. However, there is a growing demand of students enrolled in regular schools who can't be literate, or students who, although literate, have gaps in their written production. From this reality, this study seeks to understand the process of learning writing skills through the analysis of learning difficulties presented by students in the 5th year of elementary school. The research is qualitative and the work development was based in a bibliographic and documentary research. First, it was explored the national academic production of the last five years that deal with the subject. In a second moment, there was research to identify the specific difficulties in writing of an Elementary School group of students from public schools in Rio Claro, participants in the extension project entitled Teacher Training for the Specialized Educational Treatment for students with Learning Difficulties. This was made to understand, in theory and practice, what is that sets the difficulty in learning writing skills. It should be noted that this project was submitted to the Research Ethics Committee. That said, it is considered that this study will lead to the understanding of the students needs with learning difficulties in writing and the means, resources and methodologies that can be adopted to provide these individuals to overcome these difficulties, thus enabling the development and effective learning of school subjects

A partir dessa realidade, o presente trabalho busca compreender o processo de aprendizagem da escrita por meio da análise das dificuldades de aprendizagem apresentadas por alunos do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa e o desenvolvimento do trabalho pautou-se em uma pesquisa bibliográfico-documental. Primeiramente buscouse explorar a produção acadêmica nacional dos últimos cinco anos que tratam sobre o tema. Em um segundo momento houve a identificação das dificuldades específicas na escrita de um grupo de alunos do Ensino Fundamental de escolas públicas de Rio Claro, participantes do projeto de extensão intitulado Formação de Professores para o Atendimento Educacional Especializado a alunos com Dificuldade de Aprendizagem. Busca-se, compreender teoricamente e na prática, o que configura a dificuldade de aprendizagem na escrita. Cabe destacar que o presente projeto foi encaminhado ao Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa.
