Prevalência da hipertensão arterial e análise de seus fatores de risco nos núcleos de terceira idade de Presidente Prudente

Resumo: The frequency of the cardiovascular and brainvascular diseases represents an important cause of the reduction of the physical capacity of elderly people, and mortality due to these diseases rises exponentially after 65 years age. The Arterial Hypertension is one of the principal risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. As the disease is asymptomatic, the need to inform the population about the illness is a primordial factor. Based on this statement, the aim of this project was to verify the incidence of the Arterial Hypertension, associating it with the risk factors, in ten Municipal Centers of Senior Citizens of Presidente Prudente. One hundred and fifty senior people were interviewed and their blood pressures were determined. The data show that this population presents incidence of Arterial Hypertension above the expected limits. This fact can be explained by the age group of the studied population and by the high rate of some risk factors, reinforcing the need of orientations and explanations to the population about this illness, the risk factors, and the importance of seeking medical attendance periodically.

La hipertensión arterial (HA) es uno de los principales factores de riesgos para la DCV. Como la enfermedad es asintomática, la necesidad de orientar a la población sobre esa enfermedad es un factor fundamental. Basándose en esta afirmación se trazó como objetivo la verificación de la HA, correlacionándola con los factores de riesgos de los asociados, en diez núcleos municipales de la tercera edad de Presidente Prudente. Fueran entrevistados e fueran cotejadas las presiones arteriales de 150 individuos. Los datos recogidos muestran que esta población presenta predominancia de HA sobre los límites esperados. Este hecho puede ser explicado por la faja de edad de la población estudiada y por la alta tasa de algunos factores de riesgos, reforzando la necesidad de orientación e explicación a la población sobre este enfermedad, factores de riesgos, y la importancia de buscar asistencia médica periódica.A freqüência das doenças cardiovasculares (DCV) e cerebrovasculares (CV) representa importante causa da redução da capacidade física do idoso, e a mortalidade ligada a essas doenças se eleva exponencialmente após os 65 anos de vida. A Hipertensão Arterial (HA) é um dos principais fatores de risco para as DCV. Como a doença é assintomática, a necessidade de orientar a população sobre essa enfermidade é fator primordial. Assim, procurou-se verificar a prevalência da HA, correlacionando-a com os fatores de risco associados, em dez Núcleos Municipais de Terceira Idade de Presidente Prudente. Foram entrevistados 150 indivíduos, cuja pressão arterial foi aferida. Os dados colhidos mostram que essa população apresenta prevalência de HA acima dos limites esperados.
