EVALUATION OF LEVEL OF WOMEN IN CLIMACTERIC GUINDANCE ON THE ROLE OF PHYSICAL THERAPY IN THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF URINARY INCONTINENCE.

Resumo: Objective: To evaluate the level of awareness of climacteric women on UI. A prospective observational study for women living in Osasco -SP. The study included women aged 35 to 65 years. Data collection occurred through a questionnaire containing variables related to sociodemographic, historical, gynecological, obstetric and genitourinary characteristics, guidelines on the importance of physical therapy and the treatment difficulties. Another questionnaire utilized was the ICIQ-SF containing questions on the frequency of urine loss was used on 300 women from July to August 2010, at the women's health clinic CLIMEDIS. The findings were analyzed and compared with those of literature on the topic. Results: Related to educational level; 0% illiterates, 17.26% elementary, 17.26% junior high school, 38.05% high school, 27.43% university level. 50.45% to menopause women and 49.55% to women not in menopause. Under race, 68.14% were white, 6.63% were black, 20.80% were brown, 4.43% were yellow and 0 % were indigenous. 15.48% of the sample had taken hormonal replacement and 84.52% did not use hormones. The forms of UI occurrence analyzed by the ICIQ-SF, questionnaire were 52.61% for never, 14.05% before getting to the toilet, 21.28% coughed or sneezed, 1.20% slept, 5.22% during physical activity, 2.42% when getting dressed, 2.42% for no obvious reason, and 0% all the time. Conclusion: Majority of the sampled women are unaware of the use of physiotherapy in UI and have not received any preventive instruction for this illness from health professionals in the climacteric phase.

Foram incluídas mulheres entre 40 e 65 anos residentes em Osasco – SP, e a coleta de dados ocorreu com auxílio de questionário contendo va-riáveis relacionadas aos aspectos sociode-mográficos, histórico, ginecológico, obsté-trico, geniturinário, a orientações sobre a importância da fisioterapia e a dificuldades encontradas para realizar o tratamento. Para avaliar a frequência de perda urinária, o questionário utilizado foi o ICIQ-SF, apli-cado a 300 mulheres no período de julho a agosto de 2010, na Clínica de Saúde da Mulher Climedis. Os achados foram ana-lisados e comparados com os da literatura referente ao tema. Quanto ao nível de ins-trução, houve índice de 0% de analfabetas, 17,26% tinham ensino primário, 17,26%, ginasial, 38,05%, colegial e 27,43%,ensino superior. Estavam na menopau-sa 50,45% das mulheres, de modo que 49,55% da amostra não estavam. No que se refere à etnia, 68,14% eram brancas, 6,63%, negras, 20,80%, pardas, 4,43%, amarelas e 0 %, indígena. Da amostra, 15,48% fizeram reposição hormonal, ao passo que 84,52% não usaram hormônio. Em relação à frequência e às formas de ocorrência de IU analisadas pelo ICIQ-SF, registou-se 52,61% para nunca, 14,05% para antes de chegar ao banheiro, 21,28% para tosse ou espirro, 1,20% dormindo, 5,22% durante atividade física, 2,42% ao vestir-se, 2,42% sem razão óbvia e 0% todo o tempo.
