Resumo: | Several researchers have discussed the emotional intelligence construct thus this study aims to propose validity evidences to Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test – MSCEIT correlating it to another students’ assessment instrument. 83 psychology students answered the test collectively and based in some criteria 10 supervisors evaluated their respective students. According to the internal consistency and comparing it with another study it is possible to state that supervisors are more consistent than the students. MSCEIT was the most indicated test to identify people with low ability in managing their emotions. Through the data analysis recognized that more than one interpretation of the results was offered to the test which assesses the emotional intelligence and it was confirmed the use of it in the psychology formation area. |
