Resumo: The intensive system of farming is used in most of training centers, farms, riding, racetracks and other environments for training and competition for horses where the animals are most of the time confined in stalls. The vaquejada, besides being a party of secular popular culture of Brazil’s northeast, today is taking great strides forward in other regions, such as an equestrian sport with a large number of practitioners throughout the country. In order to study the influence of management on the serum concentrations in horses of vaquejada, enzymes: aspartate aminotransferase (AST), Creatinoquinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alkaline phosphatase (AP), gamma glutamyl transferase (GGT ), urea and creatinina; protein: total protein, albumin and globulin and hormones: triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4) and cortisol. 52 horses were used, with 37 males and 15 females, 26 mile race in Room (QM) and 26 mixed breed (SRD), all in training and competition period of vaquejada, created in properties located in the state of Pernambuco. The animals were divided into two groups according to the management of creation, the GOUP 1 composed of 33 animals confined, or remained in stalls throughout the day, being removed only for training or to compete and GROUP 2 consists of 19 semi-confined animals, still during the day (approximately 12 hours) in boxes and were released in groups in paddocks during the night until the following day. It was concluded that there was no influence of management on the serum concentrations in horses of vaquejada for all enzymes studied, albumin, T4 and cortisol. There was influence of management system on serum levels of total proteins, globulins and T3.

It was concluded that there was no influence of management on the serum concentrations in horses of vaquejada for all enzymes studied, albumin, T4 and cortisol. Houve influência do sistema de criação sobre os níveis séricos das Proteínas totais e Globulinas e para T3.Submitted by (edna.saturno@ufrpe.br) on 2016-10-10T13:04:26Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Gilson Santos Buonora.pdf: 502349 bytes, checksum: 5d8f67b5ebb42b7d0e815e25eab76915 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2016-10-10T13:04:26Z (GMT).
