Resumo: Picture ahead: a Kodak e a construção do turista fotógrafo investigates the history of visual culture in the 20th century by considering the constitution of an imaginary that has linked amateur photography and tourism. Kodak company was central in promoting such imagery through advertisements and intense marketing campaigns, establishing modes of production and consumption of the photographic image. Anchored in the concept of apparatus, the book makes explicit the many ways the company portrayed the tourist photographer without abandoning references from different sources and contemporary visual culture.
