Analysis of physical activity and school Physical Education on cardiorespiratory fitness in adolescents

Resumo: This article aims to identify the production of knowledge of elements and analyzes about the practice of physical activity in Physical Education classes associated with cardiorespiratory fitness. A narrative literature review from 01/2017 to 08/2018 was developed and the SciELO, PubMed and DECS databases were used: adolescents, cardiorespiratory fitness, Physical Education. The selection criteria were complete original articles with themes about adolescents of both sexes between 10-18 years old, about cardiorespiratory fitness, Physical Education and physical activity. The analysis resulted in seven studies with different methods of assessing cardiorespiratory fitness, on fitness and body awareness gymnastics, physical condition and obesity, PE classes and out-of-school physical activity. Based on analyzes of the theoretical production of the selected studies, school Physical Education proved to be fundamental in encouraging the practice of regular physical activity. It is considered that factors such as body composition, sociodemographic differences and the practice of regular physical activity associated with school Physical Education may be determining factors in the cardiorespiratory fitness of adolescents.

Desenvolveu-se uma revisão narrativa de literatura do período de 01/2017 a 08/2018 e utilizou-se as bases de dados SciELO, PubMed e os DECS: adolescentes, cardiorespiratory fitness, Physical Education. Os critérios de seleção foram artigos originais completos com temas sobre adolescentes de ambos sexos entre 10-18 anos, sobre aptidão cardiorrespiratória, Educação Física e atividade física. A análise resultou em sete estudos com diferentes métodos de avaliação da aptidão cardiorrespiratória, sobre a ginástica de condicionamento físico e consciência corporal, condição física e obesidade, aulas de EF e atividade física fora da escola. A partir de análises da produção teórica dos estudos selecionados, a Educação Física escolar demonstrou ser fundamental no incentivo de prática de atividade física regular. Considera-se que fatores como composição corporal, diferenças sociodemográficas e prática de atividade física regular associada à Educação Física escolar podem ser fatores determinantes na aptidão cardiorrespiratória de adolescentes.Universidade de São Paulo.
