Resumo: A case report of gastroesophageal intussusception in a three-month-old German Shepherd bitch, a rare condition in this species, is presented. The animal had clinical signs of regurgitation and severe dyspnea and the diagnosis was made through thoracic radiography After fluidotherapy a surgical treatment was indicated. The laparotomy was performed, the stomach reduced to its normal anatomic position, and a fundoplication was done. Although the animal showed improvement of clinical signs, it died by the 7th day after surgery. The authors discuss about the propable etiologies of this condition, the possibility of a surgical treatment and the relationship between gastroesophageal intussusception and other esophageal pathologies
