Resumo: | This paper analyses official documents and texts dating from the last six years which deal with the inclusion of deaf people in society and school. The study aims at highlighting the fact that, although some documents consider the necessity of the sign language, the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), as it is treated by the official discourse on deafness (which is ch a ra c ter is tically medical), is not considered a language, but only an ancillary means in the teaching of/in Portuguese. |
