Ecology teaching: a review of literature on its approach in middle schools

Resumo: It is of fundamental importance the renewal in the teaching of Biology in our schools, through teaching methodologies that, besides motivating the students in relation to the interest in the discipline, can, in fact, promote a learning that has direct relation with the reality of the students, considering account their previous knowledge. The aim of this paper is to present and discuss, through a literature review, the methodologies adopted in the teaching of Ecology in high schools. The research was conducted by using as source the databases Google Academics and SciELO. Eight articles were analyzed, categorized into two groups: 1) articles that report the development and/or implementation of didactic strategies focused on practices in ecology teaching; and 2) conceptions, didactic sequences and argumentation in the teaching of ecology. The results of the analysis show that the use of different methodologies contributes to learning in ecology, but it is evident that the use of spaces that exceed the school environment, that is, non-formal spaces, is still little widespread in schools.

O objetivo do presente trabalho é apresentar e discutir, através de uma revisão de literatura, as metodologias adotadas no ensino de Ecologia em escolas do Ensino Médio. A pesquisa foi realizada utilizando como fonte a base de dados do Google Acadêmico e do SciELO. Foram analisados oito artigos, categorizados em dois grupos: 1) artigos que relatam o desenvolvimento e/ou implementação de estratégias didáticas voltadas às práticas no ensino de Ecologia; e 2) concepções, sequências didáticas e argumentação no ensino de Ecologia.
