Resumo: OBJECTIVE: The present research aimed to systematically analyze the use of medicines that improve the quality of life in adults with ADHD, measured through the specific tool (AAQoL).METHODS: This systematic review study was sectioned into the following steps: research question formulation, literature search, article selection, data extraction, data synthesis, quality of evidence evaluation and writing, and publication of results.RESULTS: The studies selected to compose the systematic review demonstrated the commitment associated with the presence of ADHD in adult life, taking as intervention the medication in studies of quality. Thus, based on the evaluation proposed by the Cochrane Collaboration tool, it is possible to show that quality of life can be improved by the use of drugs that control symptoms in adults with ADHD.CONCLUSIONS: Clinical studies have proved significant improvement of the patients’ quality of life using specific ADHD medicines, as Atomoxetine, extended-release Methylphenidate and Metadoxine.
