Resumo: This article aims at analyzing the work Quarto de despejo: diário de uma favelada (1960), written by Carolina Maria de Jesus, intending to point to its relevance as a possibility for writing history from the female perspective. Taking the diary of Carolina as a manifestation of a marginalized group in history, we investigate how the author, while a poor woman, and a semi-illiterate “favela” (slum) resident, uses the literary writing to portray the environment in which she lives and to reflect about it. Therefore, we verify that the author’s autobiographical text is especially impressive considering that it allows the writing of history from a female perspective, becoming a space of accusation of the inhuman conditions that women are not rarely exposed to as an all through muted group.

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo el análisis de la obra  Quarto de despejo: diário de uma favelada (1960), escrita por Carolina Maria de Jesus, de manera que se pueda apuntar para su relevancia como posibilidad de escrita de la historia partiendo de la perspectiva femenina. Considerando el diario de Carolina como manifestación de un grupo marginado en la historia, se percibe como la autora, en su papel de mujer pobre, que vive en la “favela” y semianalfabeta, se utiliza de la escrita literaria para retratar el ambiente donde vive y reflexionar respecto de este. Se verifica, así, que el texto autobiográfico de la autora tiene gran representatividad , ya que posibilita la escrita de la historia partiendo de la perspectiva femenina, tornándose un espacio de denuncia de las situaciones infrahumanas a las cuales, a menudo, la mujer – como grupo silenciado a lo largo de los tiempos – se encuentra expuesta.    Este trabalho tem como objetivo a análise da obra Quarto de despejo: diário de uma favelada (1960), escrita por Carolina Maria de Jesus, de forma a apontar para sua relevância enquanto possibilidade de escrita da história a partir da perspectiva feminina. Tomando o diário de Carolina como manifestação de um grupo marginalizado na história, averigua-se como a autora, enquanto mulher pobre, moradora da favela e semi-analfabeta, se utiliza da escrita literária para retratar o ambiente em que vive e refletir sobre o mesmo. Verifica-se, pois, que o texto autobiográfico da autora possui grande representatividade, posto que possibilita a escrita da história a partir da perspectiva feminina, tornando-se um espaço de denúncia das situações subumanas a que, não raras vezes, a mulher – enquanto grupo silenciado ao longo dos tempos – encontra-se exposta.
